Nicole DeLalla-Katz, Practice ManagerPractice manager Nicole DeLalla-Katz has been working at Bronx Veterinary Center since she and her husband, Dr. Katz, opened it in 1995. She loves working here because of the opportunity she is given to educate clients on giving the best care to their pets. The hospital strives to be on the cutting edge of technology and advancements in veterinary medicine, and Nicole loves being able to provide clients with a high level of care at an affordable price.

Nicole and Dr. Katz have four daughters and four family pets. Nicole enjoys training her dogs and also hand-raises and trains baby birds. When she's not at the hospital, Nicole likes to go hiking in the woods with the kids and the dogs as well as go biking, trail running, and kayaking. She is also a Girl Scout Brownie leader and she is passionate about health and nutrition.

Marianela Ramos, Staff ManagerMarianela Ramos, staff manager, has worked at the hospital since 2008. She enjoys working at Bronx Veterinary Center because she knows that the hospital is bringing the community "the best medical care for animals at a very reasonable price." Marianela has three family pets: a two-year-old Maltese named Honey, a three-year-old Shih-Tzu named Sky and a four-month-old cat named Amber. She and her three daughters like to help neighbors with their pets when they travel, and she also enjoys dancing, cooking and photography.

David Damian Rivera, Licensed Veterinary TechnicianLicensed veterinary technician David Damian Rivera, an employee of Bronx Veterinary Center since 2000, likes the family atmosphere at the hospital. Working here also gives him the opportunity to explore different aspects of his profession, a perk he enjoys. In his free time, David spends time with his 10 year old pug, Herman.

Sandra Liriano, ReceptionistVeterinary assistant Jennifer Perez has worked at the hospital since 2009. "Working at this animal hospital has been a learning experience," says Jennifer. She likes working at the Center because she is able to educate pet owners about disease, vaccinations and preventative measures. When she's not at work, she enjoys hobbies such as bike riding, basketball, tennis, volleyball and shopping, and she also likes to travel.

Receptionist Sandra Liriano has worked at Bronx Veterinary Center since March of 2006. She loves working with dogs and cats, and especially the puppies who come for their first visit. Sandra has many pets of her own, including two cats named Alley and Tacha and three dogs named Loki, Jin Jin and Jolie, a former dog model featured in both Pug Talk Magazine and The New York Times. She enjoys spending time with her family, both human and animal.

Marybell Rodriguez, ReceptionistReceptionist Marybell Rodriguez began working at Bronx Veterinary Center in 2008. She enjoys working with animals and caring for them and thinks her clients and coworkers are great, too. A big animal lover, she has a cat, two dogs and a bird, and she likes spending time with her two sons.

Rosario Ugarte, ReceptionistRosario Ugarte, receptionist, has been with Bronx Veterinary Center since 1996. Working at the hospital allows her to learn about pets and their needs, and she likes the opportunity to learn more about animals and their way of life. Rosario has a Labrador Retriever named Blade, a Toy Chihuahua named Hennessy and a cat named Nino. She spends her free time with her family and likes to go on family outings with them every weekend.

Helen, Veterinary TechnicianHelene Cruz
Veterinary Technician Assistant Helene Cruz says that her work at Bronx Veterinary Center is one piece to her larger goal of increasing her animal care skills and becoming a Veterinary Technician. “I learn something new here every day, which helps me with my studies as well as gain the experience I need to become a Licensed Veterinary Technologist,” she says. “I also believe that forming a bond with the clients and their pets is a good thing because they remember the care that was given and will return here again.”

Helene adds that she is attending Mercy College and expects to complete the Veterinary Technology program in January of 2012. In all, she has been in the animal care profession for more than four years.

Her many other Interests include swimming, dog sitting and baking.

Kenya, Veterinary AssistantVeterinarian's Assistant Kenya Guzman says that she enjoys her work with the Bronx Veterinary Center because the staff feels like a family to her. "We help each other out at all times, we communicate with each other without any hesitation," she says. Kenya also says that her work is helping bring her closer to her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian by providing inspiration and a strong learning environment.

At home Kenya has a 4-year-old Chihuahua named Chikitin. She also is a member of the Pre-Vet club at SUNY Cobleskill, enjoys showing dairy cattle, working with horses, and training dogs for tracking and obedience. In her spare time, she loves to read, go to the beach, spend time with friends and family, engage in work to help her community, and play softball and volleyball.

Natalie Bersito, Veterinary TechnicianNatalie Bersito
Licensed Veterinary Technician Natalie Bersito says the gains great satisfaction from helping an ill or injured pet return to health.“I enjoy working at this hospital because I get to play a role in helping a sick animal feel better and I love the look on a client’s face when their pet has been nursed back to health,” she says.

At home, Natalie has three cats named Miss Pretty, Spooky and Meat. She also enjoys a number of outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking and traveling. When the weather does not cooperate, she simply enjoys curling up with a good book or movie.

Eric Correa, Veterinary AssistantVeterinary Assistant Eric Correa is relatively new to the Bronx Veterinary Center, though he has been working in the pet care field for more than nine years. Asked what initially drew him to us, he says it is a mix between the quality of care provided to our clients’ pets and the supportive and friendly nature of the staff.

His love of animals extends beyond the doors of the Hospital as he has a Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix named Hennessey, a Beagle named Beagles, A German Shepherd/Pitbull mix named Nero, and a Havana brown cat named Choco. Eric also enjoys watching movies, hanging out with friends and plays semi-pro football.
